Busy week of exercise!

Hey everyone,

I apologize for the long break between blogs, but I have just been busy with this cardio stuff. I should probably get a grip on it before I have to do all of those triathlons that I have signed up for!

It all started Sunday last week. We had day number two of rock climbing in the morning, then I headed out to Crossfield for a visit. We left Calgary and it was sunny with +8 temperature, get to Crossfield and it was -2 blowing wind and some light snow with lots of fog. I was pissed. Why, because I brought my bike with me for the first outdoor ride of the summer. I decided I didn't lag my bike out to sit there so I bundled up and headed out for a ride. I went 1 hour total, 25km, and only froze my neck and thumbs. Not bad. After dinner we headed right back into the city to get in a swim with the Late Night Club. Greg killed us and completed my climbing, biking, swimming night.

I rode the spin bikes at the gym on Monday, and Tuesday trying to loosen up my legs that were dead from the race, then Wednesday was swimming again. Thursday I went home and hopped on the bike at home inside for 25 minutes (on our new trainer!) and Friday was a day off. As was Saturday now that I think about it.

Sunday was our last session of climbing and because of the GIANT crappy weather storm, we only had 11 of the 21 climbers show up. We took advantage of it. We climbed a bit, then got to rappel off the top of the wall, and my personal favorite bouldering. Bouldering is like climbing but there are no harnesses or ropes. Instead of climbing up, you climb side to side following the paths they lay out on the wall. It was WAYYY harder than climbing, but more fun. I liked the stretching and lunging, and hanging by your arm stuff. Josh (a client) and I climbed a path that was tough. After we finished the instructor told us that the path was actually a 0 out of 15. That's right, 0 being the easiest and 15 being the hardest, this was a 0. WOW! My shoulders, fingers, quads, and arms are dead, from a 0!!!

Sunday night I headed to the pool early to get it done. There was a swim meet on, which sucked, so it was chaos all over. I did 3 sets of 500m and went faster on each one. I figured that was enough, since we are going to go again tomorrow night with the Late Night Swim Club.

Here are some pictures of climbing from the last couple of weeks!
