So, I am sick of winter. I am sick of snow. I am sick of cold. I'm ready for summer. When it started snowing today, I'm not going to lie, I got kind of disappointed. I want it to be light out until later at night, with warm weather and not a cold truck! I think Rexy would agree!
Well, besides that, what's up? We got home from Edmonton Monday night. It was a short, long weekend. Time just seems to fly up there. We got in lots of visiting, lots of food, and I even got lost on a walk with Rexy. We ended up in some random neighbourhood and I didn't bring my cell phone or money to make a call so Rexy and I ended up wandering around Sherwood Park for a while. Nice town!
Tuesday I got squats done early in the day. I had a client who didn't make it in so I took advantage of it. I built up to my working sets of 235 lbs for 4 sets of 5 reps. No belt or spot, and pretty comfortable. In my last 12 week power program I did, this workout was equivalent to week number 4 so I'm getting back up there. Next week I will do 4 sets of 4 reps with 250lbs.
Wednesday after work I headed to the pool. We didn't get to the pool in Edmonton so that week without swimming I knew was going to get me. So my excited surprise it was time trial night. Pretty much what that means is that you do a certain length (in this case 500m) as fast as you can. It was the first one I ever did so I took it pretty easy, had one stop for leaking goggles and I finished in 11 m 26 s. I was kind of hoping for 10 minutes or so but hey, this is a benchmark for next time right? I am going swimming on Friday after work again so I think I am going to try it again, I know I can do a bit better!
The only other interesting news from swimming is that we had to do 4 lengths of 25 m at 95-100% as hard as we could. I challenged Leslie to a race and sure enough, I DESTROYED her! She claims I was only a arm length ahead of her but I was standing at the end of the pool waiting for her to finish!!!! Ha ha ha. I'm sure she will comment on this, and tell you it's not true, but really who are going to believe????????ME!
Thursday I had a few cancellations again at work. I managed to get two workouts in. In the afternoon I did some benching. 5 working sets of 155 lbs with 6,6,5,5,5 reps. I did some shoulders and triceps to finish. My later workout I got my back and forearms done. I want to get my deadlifting done in the afternoon tomorrow so I thought it would be good to get this out of the way now. My back is sure a lot weaker than the rest of my body. I need to start getting it more regularly and intenser in the next while!
I got some other big news lingering on the horizon but I don't want to make it official yet. That is how I am going to end this blog, with built up excitement for the next one!!!

YES, winter needs to end. I cant keep seeing bright sun and cold temps. I completely agree!
