Hey!
Where do I start.......
All right first and most important, workouts. I am feeling pretty good this week, still hacking ever so often for a fit, but not too bad at all. Sunday night I hit the pool with Darryl and Leslie. I wasn't great yet, so I stuck to doing sets of 100m trying to work on some technique things. At the end of the workout I tried a 200m (race distance) time trial to see how I was sitting. Last time I did it (in a 25 m pool) I was hitting about 4 minutes 45 seconds, and Sunday night in the 50 m pool (which is slower apparently) I hit 4 minutes and 30 seconds on the nose. Not too bad. I am still about 45 seconds slower than I want but I still have 4 months too. I figure 10 seconds per month is pretty achievable!
I didn't lift weights on Monday, since I had a pretty long day but I did hit squats tonight. After my warm ups I did 5 working sets of 195 lbs for 6 reps, trying to limit the rest in between. That is the same weight I did 2 weeks ago before my little lung issue, so I'm happy to say it's on the way back up! Next week I'm going to push for sure over 200lbs still maintaining a six rep max. I followed with 5 sets of lying leg curls, some shoulder and chest work and forearms to finish up.
In other news, I received my learn to speak German kit in the mail today. I have been playing around with the cd rom a little tonight and truthfully, it looks tough! I did tell my German speaking Grandma on the weekend that next time I called I would talk some German to her. Uh oh!
Ohhh, what else? I booked some holidays for the summer. In June Leslie, Rexy, and I are heading down to Boise, Idaho for a Ironman 70.3 (half) race. I was booking accommodations on the weekend and noticed that Yellowstone National Park is only about and hour out of our way. I figured since we were there, we might as well stop by. I booked a Kamping Kabin at KOA for 2 nights to visit the park then we are going to spend 4 nights at a KOA outside Boise in a Kabin as well! It's about half the price of a hotel room and you bring your own linens but it has a fridge and stove in it too. It will be perfect for us usual tenting folk!
I also added a few links to my link list. One is a blog for our trip to Cozumel in November. I will be updating that one along with the other people going throughout the year. It will talk about where we are going, our plans and of course all the race news from Ironman Cozumel on November 29. The other links are blogs for other people, one is a client of mine Marc (who only talks great things about me!), one is Leslie's little sister Amber up in the Yukon, and the other is Stacey who is a member at the gym and an avid Rider fan! Do check them out if you get a few minutes!
The only other news is that Rexy continues to be a monster! We think one of her teeth fell out, which hopefully means she will stop eating us soon!! She is doing well otherwise. She is putting on about 1kg per week and as of Friday last week officially passed the 25 lbs mark. Still cute as ever though!!!

Be strong!
