Good Training Week!

Hey!

So I finally seem to be back on track. Workouts are happening this week which is good. Even though I am so tired, I feel really good to get back in the groove!

I had big plans on Monday for a good squat workout. I was changed, about to head out of the staff room to meet Allan, when I checked my cell phone. Poor Leslie was at home throwing up and Rexy seemed to want to play! So, out of my workout clothes and home I went to rescue Leslie and give her some private puke time. She seemed to have gotten food poisoning from salmon she ate at the Keg on Sunday, but I'm happy to report is feeling better now!

Tuesday night I made up for the lack of squats on Monday. Allan was there again, so I worked my way up to working sets of 195 lbs. I did 4 sets, hitting 6 reps on all except set number 3, which was 5. It was really hard. My hamstrings were not very happy about half way through and my balance and foot position seemed off the whole time too. I guess that's what happens when you don't squat for over a month, huh? I finished with some leg curls then about 15 minutes of 'playing' on the ball trying to find that stability again.

Wednesday turned out to be a wacky day. I had a client at noon, then all my clients until 7pm cancelled! I had 6 hours at the gym to do........... bench press! I got benching done during the afternoon and did some lighter shoulder and triceps work as well. Lighter because after work at 9pm was swimming. I met Darryl at the pool (coach Greg blew us off, for another athlete:)!!) and we swam for a good hour. I repeated the 100,200,300,400,300,200,100 workout I did on Sunday and felt a lot better doing it too!

Tonight I came home after work to relax for a night. I had a full day of 8 clients non-stop so I was pretty pooped when I got home. Rexy is in terror mode, so I finally shoved her in her kennel for a time out, hence, why I'm on the computer now.

The only other interesting news this week is that I signed up officially for the Splash, Pedal, and Gasp triathlon in Lethbridge on May 10 (sorry Mom, it's Mother's Day!). I had to write down my predicted swim time so I put 3:45 seconds for 200 m. I can't do it that fast yet (about 4:20) now, so I do have some work to do! There is only 1 other male in my age category so far, so I don't have to research opponents yet!

I plan to get deadlifts and back done on Friday night, then hopefully get outside for a first run of 2009, providing it is as nice outside as they predict!

Have a great Friday!

Grizzster!
